MT Jones returns to the Tones Studio to perform his latest single ‘Rocking My Boat’.
Drawing inspiration from 1960s and 70s American soul greats, MT Jones has honed a sound that is simultaneously timeless and contemporary. Hailing from Liverpool, Jones has travelled the world as a session musician, backing luminaries such as fellow rising UK star Jalen Ngonda. Jones’s own material is imbued with the spirit of his influences, transporting you to a smoke filled speakeasy, whilst keeping a foot firmly in the present day.
Winning strong support from the BBC both locally and nationally, including plays on 1Xtra and Radio Merseyside, coupled with sold out shows, including the prestigious Music Room at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall underline Jones’s forward momentum. The singer has collaborated with some of the UKs greatest writer / producers, including Eg White (Adele), Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi) and Paul O Duffy (Amy Winehouse). For his debut Tones sessions, Jones played his original tracks All I Do & Tough Love, concluding with a cover of soul standard At Last, made famous by the legendary Etta James.
