Bobby West: Liverpool’s Rising Music Star | Tones Session

Bobby West, a native of North Liverpool’s Anfield suburb, first gained prominence as the frontman of the band Broken Men. The group quickly built a following, leading to tours across England, Russia, and Europe, including supporting Echo and The Bunnymen.

Embarking on a solo career, West has been described as a “council estate Sinatra,” known for his golden vocals and authentic songwriting. His music juxtaposes dark, gritty themes with beautiful melodies, creating a unique and compelling sound.

In November 2020, West released the single “All My Years,” which he described as central to creating the sound of his solo project.

West’s work has garnered critical acclaim, with some describing his music as having “all the hallmarks of Richard Hawley playing cards with Johnny Cash, whilst Mark Lanegan looks on with a glass of bourbon.”

As of November 2024, West performed at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room, sharing the stage with Eleanor Nelly.
